Rewilding is an attempt to reconnect our natural world, giving it a chance to reset, to support restoration of species natural habitats and to help nature flourish. It is a change in viewpoint on a manicured garden and it all starts with the plants.
Today, nature in Britain is in serious trouble. More than half of our species are in decline and 15% is threatened with extinction. We’ve already hunted all of our top predators to extinction. Native woodlands cover a mere 6% of our land. Life has been torn from our seas to meet unsustainable demand. The Rewilding movement is an important step to restore the wider natural processes that support life.
Since the 1930s, the UK has lost nearly 97% of wild flower meadows. Awash with colourful flowers and grasslands, they support a myriad of insects and mammals. Our very own mini jungles that can even capture a vast amount of carbon from pollution.
