Calathea are usually found on jungle floors, in a damp and humid environment. They like indirect or filtered light but are pretty shade tolerant. Water once the top 2 inches of the soil have dried out. They prefer a warm and humid spot so mist regularly. Avoid draughts and areas of dry air as this will cause the leaf edging to brown and crisp.
