Platycerium are commonly know as Staghorn Ferns because of their unique shape and resemblance to antlers in maturity. You will often find them mounted onto wood like a stag's head, which is also how they're found growing in the wild.
They are naturally epiphytic plants, meaning they grow on the trunk of another plant in the wild, so need minimal watering and don't require regular re-potting. They prefer a well draining compost and for their soil dry out between waterings. As their soil is often covered by their thick foliage, you may need to water from below. Regular to high levels of humidity are preferable for Staghorns but they are fairly resiliant to dry air. Place it in an area with bright but indirect light. It will tolerate dappled light and some direct sun in the mornings or evenings.
