About
Thaumatophyllum Xanadu (formerly known as Philodendron Xanadu) are extremely easy to look after and pack a punch in any room with their wild and bushy foliage in an interesting and unusual shape.
Light: Indirect light or shade
Thaumatophyllum are lower story tropical plants (plants naturally found on the rainforest floors) which means they are able to tolerate fairly low light levels in the home, however growth will be slow. Bright but indirect light is preferred.
Watering: Moderate
In Spring and Summer you should let the top inch or two of soil dry out between waterings, whilst during Autumn and Winter it's best to let the soil dry at least half way down the pot. The easiest way to test moisture levels is by sticking your finger into the soil to the required depth.
Humidity: Moderate
As tropical plants they will thrive in a spot with plenty of moisture in the air, but average room levels of humidity will do for this easy going houseplant. Misting the leaves weekly is recommended.
Note:
The leaves on a Thaumatophyllum are waxy in texture so they tend to gather dust. Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth if you notice a build up of dust, or use a water and neem oil mix to stave off pests.
