Aloe are an evergreen succulent with fleshy, thick leaves and serrated edges. The 'Desert Diamond' variety has a dark green undertone with very pale green, almost white, variegation. It's extremely striking and very low maintenance.
Water when the soil has fully dried. You can leave it dry for long periods of time over the cooler months but it's best to water fairly soon after the soil has dried in summer to promote new growth.
They prefer warm, dry air and should be kept away from areas of high humidity as too much moisture in the air will cause the leaves to rot.
Feed with a cactus and succulent food over spring and summer, and only re-pot when you see roots emerging from the base of the pot (probably every few years). They should be planted into a free draining, sandy cactus compost.
